White Sikh held for wearing kirpan in US, released later (15 June 2017)
"A US White Sikh was arrested by police in Baltimore, Mayland, for wearing a kirpan while shopping at a store in Catonsville. He was handcuffed and taken to a police station, but released after a police officer recognized him from a previous arrest.
This is not the first such occurrence for 33-year-old Harpreet Singh, who was Justin Smith before converting to Sikhism around 10 years back. "I have lost count of the times I have faced questioning by police for wearing a kirpan," he told TOI on Wednesday."
