Cabinet recommends changes to recycling and refuse collections (25 Feb 2019) This is a summary of the proposed changes - Residual waste (green bin) collections will continue to be collected fortnightly. Households will receive two wheelie bins to replace the three boxes they currently have for recycling: a blue-lidded wheelie bin for paper/cardboard recycling and a white-lidded wheelie bin for mixed recycling. They will be collected fortnightly on alternate weeks. If the proposals are approved by the Council on 6 March, a leaflet with further information will be sent to all households affected. This will include information about how services will change and the invitation to choose which of three sizes of wheelie bins each household would prefer (140, 180 or 240 litre). Weekly food recycling collections will continue. www.bexley.gov.uk/news/cabinet-recommends-changes-recycling-and-refuse-collectionswww.newsshopper.co.uk/news/17460600.bexley-recycling-collections-to-go-fortnightly-in-bid-to-cut-costs/
