Map shows streets targeted during sharp rise in Bexley burglaries (23 Nov 2018)

A total of 40 burglaries and attempted burglaries were reported to police across Bexley over the past week, according to officers' reports.

his is a staggering 54 per cent increase compared to the week previous where only 26 were reported in the borough.

Ward officers have warned that most burglaries are happening between 5pm and 9.30pm and not overnight. Residents are being advised to double lock their doors and keep windows shut at all times.

Advice was also given to those with side entrances to store wheelie bins in back gardens as these are often used to help thieves get over fences.
