Fireworks display to return to Blackheath - but council says its future is in jeopardy (20 Oct 2017) "The annual fireworks display at Blackheath is set to return this November but the council has said there is a risk it won’t be able to continue. The event is free to attend but Lewisham Council has said the future may be in jeopardy and would appreciate all and any donations. The event is expected to attract upwards of 100,000 people as it has in previous years. On November 4 the spectacular display of lights and explosions will start at 8pm. The full event includes a funfair from 12pm, food and bars from 5pm, and the fireworks once the sky turns dark. You can donate to the fireworks display at the Age Exchange in Blackheath or Hamptons International branches in Blackheath, Greenwich and Dulwich. You can also donate via collection buckets on the night." www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/15609078.Fireworks_display_to_return_to_Blackheath___but_council_says_its_future_is_in_jeopardy/?ref=mr&lp=14
